Better Late Than Never

So this morning my husband and I decided our need for sleep was greater than our need to hit the gym. (Our schedule- his alarm goes off at 5:15am and we are at the gym by 6am. Monday through Friday. Every week. I know, we're crazy) Now I am NOT a morning person. It took a lot of him kicking my butt (I asked him to, of course) at first, but after a couple months I have come to enjoy our early mornings at the gym together. I am at the point where I really can't stand the days I miss the gym. It throws my whole day off. I've come to realize that without that initial push in the mornings to get things going, I lounge on the couch longer and take forever to get anything done around the house.

Today, as I sat on the couch playing stupid games on my phone and watching the morning news, I looked at the time and realized it was already 10am and the only thing I had accomplished for the day was feeding the dog. Crap. Feeling guilty, I forced myself to do a quick work out to make up for laying around all morning (Tabata is a GREAT way to get a quick and effective workout in at home). After that work out, my entire vibe for the day changed. I was motivated to eat a healthier breakfast (or brunch by the time I sat down to eat it) and finally get this blog started to help track my progress. I also felt way more awake and just overall happier. It really is amazing what a boost you can get from a little exercise.

Now I am off to take the dog for a walk and log some miles towards my 1,000
